RescueNet team on site and working hard David Skeat Monday, January 18th 2010
The airport at Port au Prince was closed for 2 days whilst the military in Haiti tried to clear the log jam of supplies and personnel that had stacked up there. The RescueNet team arrived there Monday and are in a UN camp close to the airport.
Security is a problem and the city is in lock down because of the looting and rioting. The team are working in the local hospital where medical supplies are short and hundreds of amputations and wounds need to be treated. The team are working 12 hour shift there and are all safe and in good spirits. They will be joined by a team from Mercy Works tomorrow.
